Why Manali is a favourite destination for every delhite

Manali is situated at a height of 2050 metres and is located in Himachal Pradesh. Manali is popular tourist spot for the people of Delhi in summers and in winters it is snow covered. It falls on the route of Ladakh and the presence of the Routing Pass makes it one of the main attractions of the region. The months from January to February are the coldest months with temperatures dropping down to as low as – 5 degrees. For the rest of the year temperature is in the bracket of 15 to 20 degrees.
By now you might have had an idea on why Manali is a favourite destination for every Delhite. The travel time from Delhi to Manali is 14 hours and you can book your tickets at ISBT or Himachal Tourism Office. To reach Manali Volvo buses are the best option if you are looking for something in terms of comfort as well as value for money. They depart at 5 in the evening and reaching Manali at 10 mornings the next day. But to avail reservations you need to book your ticket well in advance. It would be better if you could combine it with a hotel package so that considerable amount of money is saved. One can enjoy the scenic view of the valleys and the Beas river if the right type of seat is obtained on the bus.

Manali By Car from Delhi

If you are planning to avail private car, do ensure that the driver has experience of driving in hilly regions and is not under the influence of any substance. Do make it a point that the driver has gone on a trip before and is fully aware of the roads. The driver should have driven the vehicle in hilly regions and the distance taken to reach Manali by car will be somewhere around 8 to 9 hours

How to reach Manali By train from Delhi

In terms of broad gauge line, the nearest railway station is Ambala (200km) or Chandigarh (250 km) from the capital of the country.

Manali By flight from Delhi

The nearest airport is Kullu that is around 50 km away from Manali. Air India operates flights from Kullu from Delhi. But the service is very irregular and the fares can go over the roof. From the airport you can exercise an option of a pre-paid taxi which is the best way to reach Manali. You can also go to Kullu and take a bus from there.
