Delhi to Kasauli – A family trip

With the unforgiving summers in Delhi plan a trip to the hills. Kasauli is the best place because it works out to be a perfect road trip with your family and does not fall in the usual list of hill stations. Plan a trip in such a way that it takes you 4 days and in between halt for 2 days at Chandigarh so that you can unwind yourself and do not face the trouble of a tiresome journey.
The distance from Delhi to Kasuali roughly takes around 6 to 8 hours, which is dependent on the traffic and the prevailing road conditions. The route to cover this destination is easy as one has to take NH1 or the Great Trunk Road from Delhi to Ambala and then divert to NH22 for Ambala. The roads are fairly in good condition for the entire duration of the trip. It is suggested that you take a break on your trip for a day each while coming and going at Chandigarh.
It is suggested that you start early in the morning from Delhi as the outer limit of Delhi roughly takes around 2 hours and the late you start the more traffic you are bound to encounter. Ideally you should start your journey at 8 in the morning and you will find that the roads were getting filled with office goers. By noon you will reach Murthal which is a famous place for the food joints known as dhabas. To chill out it is better you pay a visit to one of the famous joints known as Gulshan Dhaba. The parathas were too big embedded with butter and the taste of lassi is still savouring in your mouth.
It was around 1 pm that you will Ambala and instead of taking NH22, and it is better to drive to Chandigarh. Here staying at Himachal Bhavan would be . It is a state run establishment which is clean, hygienic and does offer a true value for your money. You have your dinner at Swagath, pay a visit to the Sukhana lake along with a mall. (View Packages)
The next morning, drive from Chandigarh, take the NH22 also referred to as Himalayan Expressway. The drive will smooth, and fast, though you were totally into the drive when it starts drizzling.
It is suggested that you book your hotel reservations well in advance so that you are not stranded at the last minute. A package would be a great way to streamline things.
